HOW TO COPE UP ANXIETY DURING THIS TIME OF PANDEMIC

 

The covid-19 pandemic brought different problems to people especially to their mental health. Fearing that more unexpected things is going to happen due to the new normal, most of them feel more stress that results to anxiety. Being isolated during quarantine and feeling more alone because of social distancing may also worsen your anxiety. Others are bracing for what may come next. All of us are asking and wondering, “When is this going to end?”

We still don’t know exactly how long this will last, or how bad things might get. We don’t know how widespread or deadly the illness is going to end up being. But there are many things you can do even in the face of this unique crisis to manage your anxiety and fears. Being proactive about your mental health can help to keep both your mind and body stronger.

Here are some few tips to cope up with it.

  • Take care of your body and unwind.

Taking care of yourself is one of the most necessary steps. Eat a balanced and healthy diet and avoid the use of alcohol beverages. Find a ways to exercise. Staying active will help you release anxiety, relieve stress, and manage your mood. A healthy body gives off a healthy mind. Also do meditating to relax your body.

  • Disconnect to Reconnect.

Take a break from all the toxicity in social media. Drop your phone for once and start small talks with the people around you such as your family or relatives. Telling someone what bothers you may reduce your burden.

  • Write your thoughts.

When you can't sleep or can't concentrate because of overthinking, get a piece of paper and write them all. It is also an effective way to sort out the thoughts that are bothering your mind.

  • Do something you love.

Explore new things and find a hobby you are interested at such as drawing, writing poems, compose a songs, learning musical instruments, baking and do some gardening. This may destruct you from thinking of worrisome things and it even builds up your skills and yourself.
