PEZA ADVISORY ON COVID-19
CEZ Memorandum Circular No. 2020-048
With the still growing number of people being infected by COVID-19 everyday, PEZA-CEZ urges all ecozone workers to follow the behavioral changes that can cut down the virus transmission in their workplaces.
The Department of Trade & Industry (DTI) has also outlines additional guidelines including health protocols in the workplace for compliance of all concerned, which include:
- Designation of a Health Protocol Officer (HPO) and an occupational Health and Safety Protocol Committee (OHSPC);
- Face masks and face shields should be worn in a room with more than one person, especially, during meeting and while in the shuttle/vehicles;
- Frequent handwashing and disinfection of areas;
- Mandatory checking of body temperature;
- Avoid chatting while eating together, even in a dining are with existing engineering control (physical barrier). As much as possible, bring your own food & utensils and consume meals at your work stations and clean as you go, if practicable. - Encourage the use of social media/video teleconferencing in conducting meetings. Office interactions should be thru phone calls, text messages, unless physical interaction is needed. (Reference: Joint DOLE-DTI Interim Guidelines in the Workplace Prevention & Control of COVID-19)
- Avoid going to crowded places like malls
